Install Wordpress

Check out bellow video tutorial to install wordpress on your localhost. If you don't know how to setup WordPress on the server/hosting. Please contact me on the Support system to get installation service.


How to Install Theme #back to top

Upload via WordPress Admin

Unzip the file that you download after purchase. The following files and folders will be in the unzipped file:

  • goto.zip (Packed theme file for install)
  • Documentation/index.html (Documentation)

There're 2 ways to upload theme:

1. Upload via FTP Server:

Using your FTP program, upload the non-zipped theme folder into the /wp-content/themes/ folder on your server.


2. Wordpress Upload:

Navigate to Appearance > Add New Theme > Upload Theme. Go to browse, and select the zipped goto.zip file. Hit Install Now and the theme will be uploaded and installed.

Once the theme has been uploaded, you need to activate it. Go to Appearance > Themes and activate Goto theme.


Plugins Installation #back to top

After you Activate this theme you will see message in WP admin panel that you must install required plugins and can install recommended plugins. Don't worry - all plugins included with theme and you don't need to download or purchase something.

  1. Click Begin installing plugins in this message
  2. You must check all required plugins and can check recommended plugins (we recommend it to use, but theme will work without this plugins too):
  3. Select Install in dropdown Bulk Actions menu and click Apply
  4. You should get All installations have been completed message with installed Plugins table below it
  5. Select Activate in dropdown Bulk Actions menu and click Apply to active plugin
  6. Select Yes, Install these extensions to install extensions

Goto theme has included 1-click demo data import feature. This sample data contains menus, sample pages, posts and images. Your site will looks exactly as our demo site if you import sample demo data. We strongly recommend you to import Dummy Data first time when you use our theme first time.

Importing Demo Content #back to top

You can import all theme demo content with one click (posts, pages, products, categories, menus, sample images, sliders, plugins configurations).

  1. Go to Tools -> Demo Content Install then click Install button
  2. The demo content will download and setup content and images automatically. This process can take about 2-5 minutes depends on your internet connection

  3. When the importing process finishs you need go to wp-admin -> Settings -> Permalinks then click Save to update the permalink structure.

Please install all plugins and compatible extensions before doing this step!.

Homepage setup #back to top

You don't need to create Homepage and Blog pages if you used 1-Click Demo Data import feature or imported theme demo content manualy.

First of all you need to create required pages and select it for frontpage display:

  1. Go to Pages > Add New
  2. Input some page name, for example Homepage (we will fill it some steps later)
  3. Publish homepage page
  4. Go to Pages > Add New
  5. Input some page name for blog, for example Blog and Publish it
  6. Go to Settings > Reading
  7. Choose Front page displays option "A static page", select Home page that you just created for Front page option and Blog page for Posts page option:

  8. Click Save Changes

You don't need to create Tours page if you used 1-Click Demo Data import feature or imported theme demo content manualy.

First thing to create tour page content is to create a tour post. Theme has various post options for you display different content on your tour informations.

  1. Go to WordPress Dashboard > Tours > Add New Tour
    New tour
  2. Enter post title and content, category as you want
  3. Upload tour featured image using set featured box on the bottom right side. All pages will use this image for post preview image and thumbnail.
  4. Customise Tour
  5. Once you finish, click Publish.

Then, create a Tour page containing Tour post

  1. Go to WordPress Dashboard > Pages > Add New
  2. Select Tour Template
  3. Once you finish, click Publish.

We added the new Tour Booking Type option: WooCommerce. This is going to make tour booking payment easier. To enable the WooCommerce integration for Tour Booking type, follow these steps:

  1. Go to WordPress Dashboard > Tours > Settings
    Navigate to the WooCommerce integration
  2. On Choose Tour Booking Type, choose WooCommerce and click Save.

You can also set Tour Booking Type for a specific tour. Here's the guide:

  1. Navigate to any tour you have created. WordPress Dashboard > Tours > All Tours and Choose a tour.

  2. Scroll down to the section named Tour Customizing and click on Booking Type
    Booking Type tab on the Tour Customizing section
  3. The default value is Default which means the setting value will be whatever value you have set on Tours Settings (WordPress Dashboard > Tours > Settings > Choose Tour Booking Type).
  4. Now you can set booking type option only for specific tour you're in.

Destinations#back to top

You don't need to create Destinations page if you used 1-Click Demo Data import feature or imported theme demo content manualy.

First thing to create destination page content is to create a destination post. Theme has various post options for you display different content on your destination informations.

  1. Go to WordPress Dashboard > Destination > Add New Destination
    New destination
  2. Enter post title and content, category as you want
  3. Upload tour featured image using set featured box on the bottom right side. All pages will use this image for post preview image and thumbnail.
  4. Customise Destination
  5. Once you finish, click Publish.

Then, create a Destination page containing Destination post

  1. Go to WordPress Dashboard > Pages > Add New
  2. Add Desination Widget
  3. Customise Desination Widget
  4. Once you finish, click Publish.

Menu Management #back to top

You don't need to do this step if you imported demo content.

You will setup menu for the theme in Dashboard > Appearances > Menus . To create a menu, just click add new menu choose the menu items from the left hand side, add theme to Menu, you can modify the lable of them, change the order and make theme be parent-child by dragging the items forward to the right a bit. Remember to check the box at the bottom to decide the location for the menu you've created

Finally click Save Menu to finish before you go somewhere else or start to make the next menu

Widget Management #back to top

In default, you can use widget in right sidebar and footer of a page.

  1. Go to Appearance > Widgets
  2. Move widgets from left "Available Widgets" block to right sidebar that you want to use to add it to display in theme
  3. Press Delete to remove widget

Revolution Slider#back to top

Goto is completely compatible with Slider Revolution. Its intuitive interface with diversified options and effects will be good choice for you slider. If you plan to use Slider Revolution Plugin for you site, check out these source:

Customizer #back to top

Make sure Unyson plugin is installed before using Customizer.

You can manage multiple theme settings with live preview in our Customizer setting.

  1. Go to Appearance -> Customizer from the left sidebar in WP admin panel
  2. You can manage a lot of panels, sections, settings, check all avaiable Tab with settings.
  3. When you change the value of one setting, the result'll appear without saving. You can test before saving by click to Save button

Some special customizes

  1. Change main color, second color and highlight color
  2. Change typography of Mainmenu Transparent Typography, Mainmenu Typography, Submenu Mainmenu Typography, Megamenu Heading Typography, Submenu Megamenu Typography, Body Typography, Heading, H1-H6
  3. Change options of Single Tour like: Menu layout, Background color, Customer support, change Related tours number/column .
  4. Enable/Disable Feature Destination Image of Single Destination.
  5. Change options of Single like: Enable/Disable page header in all page, Enable/Disable breadcrumb in all page, Pattern images, change Page Title alignment, upload pattern images, change Background color/image/position/size header, Enable/Disable parallax for background.
  6. Change general options like: Change header layout for pages, Enable/Disable Preloader, Smooth scolling, Dialog search.
  7. Change logo for pages:
  8. Change options of footer like: Change background, call to action, copyright text and social link

Translation #back to top

This method allows you to have your Wordpress installation display in ONE non-English language.

For multiple languages, please use the WPML plugin.

First, configure Wordpress to be displayed in your language Obtain the localization files for Wordpress by going to http://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_in_Your_Language and download either a completely translated Wordpress package, or just the localization files (.mo and .po files).

Locate the localization files They are named .mo and .po. If you downloaded a translated Wordpress package, they are located in /wp-content/languages/.

Copy these files to wp-content/languages/. Open your wp-config.php file and find the line containing: define('WPLANG', ''); And replace it with (this example is for French): define('WPLANG', 'fr_FR'); Remember to replace "fr_FR" with your language code.

Poedit plugin

Download and install Poedit, this is needed to generate the localization files Run Poedit Go to File > New catalog from POT file and open the plugin's language template file located in /wp-content/themes/goto/languages/

Click OK to confirm the new catalog properties Poedit will prompt you to Save the file. Save it into the same folder as the .pot file and name it (this example is for French; replace "fr" with your language code): fr.po

ow you can translate each item in the catalog. Click Save to save your changes; Poedit will generate a fr.mo file which Wordpress uses to load translations

Theme Update #back to top

You can update theme to the latest version quickly by using Evanto Toolkit pluign.

Please make sure you did install Envato WordPress Toolkit plugin before

To setup Evanto Toolkit plugin, you need an API code from Themeforest. You will need to generate an API key to link your WordPress site to your Themeforest account.

Login to Themeforest, go to your dashboard and click on “My Settings.” The API Keys screen allows you to generate a free API key.

Check Update

The plugin will now alert you to theme updates – so long as you check the toolkit settings regularly.

Click on “install automatically” beside each of your themes to automatically update them.

The toolkit settings page also allows you to install themes that you haven’t already uploaded to your site, delete ones you don’t use and view version details. You can also set up theme backups.
